Solar Pumping

APOTI installed solar pumping in a 33-meter-deep semi-artesian well in the Kaxinawá Indigenous Land of the Humaitá River, in the Novo Futuro village.

The objective was to make the use of the well sustainable and free, not depending on an energy generator to operate, since this requires gasoline – the most expensive item in the monthly budget of Huni Kuin families, which pollutes the air, sound and water.

Four 330W solar panels and a high-flow pump were installed, allowing the Huni Kuin to have plenty of water for drinking, cooking, washing and bathing in the showers.
