Indigenous Land Igarapé do Caucho

Water Project – Caucho

APOTI executed the “ÁGUA Project – Igarapé do Caucho Indigenous Land”, in which three artesian wells were drilled in Caucho Village. The groups chosen by the communities to install the wells were Txana Huya (Xinã Bena Keneya), Yura Xaba Wãkin and Txana Ibu.

Once completed, the Txana Huya group’s well was 37.5 meters deep, equipped with an industrial filter, a structure for water tanks five meters high and pumping carried out by a solar pump, with 560W of power in panels.

The Txana Ibu group’s well was 66 meters deep, equipped with a professional solar pump connected to four solar panels with 1120W of total power, an industrial filter, a five-meter high water tank structure and a 5,000 liters.

The Yura Xaba Wãkin group’s well was 40 meters deep, equipped with a 1 HP electric pump, industrial filter, structure for a five-meter high water tank and a 5,000 liter water tank.

In addition to the three filters for the new wells that were drilled in this project, two other industrial filters were installed to correct water problems (rust and manganese) in two other wells: one in the Dezoito Praias village and the other in the Txana Huya group.
